GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

1. About the Journal

The Kashf Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (KJMR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Kashf Institute of Development & Studies, Pakistan.

KJMR publishes original research in English and follows a double-blind peer-review process.

The journal welcomes manuscripts from Social Sciences, Humanities, Education, Business, Economics, Psychology, Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Agriculture, and other multidisciplinary fields.

2. Article Processing Charge

There is no fee for initial manuscript submission.

An Article Processing Charge of USD 80, or its equivalent in Pakistani Rupees, is payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.

The fee covers peer-review coordination, plagiarism screening, copyediting, formatting, DOI registration, online publication, and digital preservation.

Payment does not guarantee acceptance and does not influence the editorial decision.

Official payment instructions will be provided after acceptance.

3. Waiver Policy

A full or partial fee waiver may be granted in genuine cases of financial hardship.

Waiver requests may be considered for students, early-career researchers, independent researchers, and authors from low-income countries.

Requests must be submitted before payment and are decided on a case-by-case basis.

4. Types of Manuscripts

KJMR accepts:

5. Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted through the KJMR Online Journal System.

The corresponding author must:

  • Enter the title, abstract, and keywords.
  • Add all authors in the correct order.
  • Provide complete author affiliations and email addresses.
  • Upload a separate title page.
  • Upload an anonymized manuscript.
  • Submit ethical approval or supplementary files where applicable.
  • Confirm compliance with journal policies.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal.

6. Originality and Declaration

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

All sources, ideas, data, images, and previously published materials must be properly acknowledged.

The manuscript must not contain plagiarism, fabricated data, falsified results, duplicate publication, or manipulated information.

All authors must approve the manuscript and agree with the order of authorship.

7. Double-Blind Review

Authors must submit two separate files:

Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Manuscript title
  • Author names
  • Affiliations
  • Email addresses
  • ORCID identifiers, where available
  • Corresponding-author details
  • Funding statement
  • Conflict-of-interest statement
  • Author contribution statement
  • Acknowledgments

Anonymous Manuscript

The main manuscript must not contain author names, affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, acknowledgments, or any information revealing the authors’ identities.

8. Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts should follow the official KJMR template.

  • File format: Microsoft Word
  • Page size: A4
  • Font: Times New Roman
  • Article title: 16 point, bold and centred
  • Main text: 12 point
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 1 inch
  • Alignment: Justified
  • Abstract length: 150–250 words
  • Keywords: 4–6
  • Reference style: APA 7th edition
  • Language: Academic English

British or American English may be used but must remain consistent.

9. Manuscript Structure

Original research articles should normally contain:

  1. Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Keywords
  4. Introduction
  5. Literature Review
  6. Research Objectives or Questions
  7. Methodology
  8. Results or Findings
  9. Discussion
  10. Conclusion and Recommendations
  11. Limitations and Future Research
  12. Acknowledgments
  13. Author Contributions
  14. Funding Statement
  15. Conflict-of-Interest Statement
  16. Data Availability Statement
  17. References

The structure may be adjusted according to the subject and research design.

10. Research Ethics

Research involving human participants must include ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.

Authors must protect the privacy and confidentiality of participants.

Identifiable information or images must not be published without written consent.

Animal research must follow applicable institutional and national ethical guidelines.

Medical and health research should follow the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.

11. Authorship and Disclosures

Authorship should be limited to individuals who made a substantial contribution to the research and manuscript.

Gift authorship, ghost authorship, honorary authorship, and unauthorized changes in authorship are prohibited.

Authors must provide:

  • Author contribution statement
  • Funding statement
  • Conflict-of-interest statement
  • Data availability statement

Where no conflict exists, state:

Conflict of Interest: The authors declare that they have no conflict of interest.

Where no external funding was received, state:

Funding: This research received no external funding.

12. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened through plagiarism-detection software.

The permitted limits are:

  • Maximum overall similarity: 15%
  • Maximum similarity from one source: 3%
  • Minimum expected originality: 85%

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data plagiarism, image plagiarism, or citation manipulation may be rejected or retracted.

13. References, Tables and Figures

References must follow APA 7th edition.

Authors must ensure that:

  • Every in-text citation appears in the reference list.
  • Every listed reference is cited in the manuscript.
  • DOI links are included where available.
  • References are accurate and arranged alphabetically.

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.

Figures should be clear and preferably submitted in JPG, PNG, or TIFF format with a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.

Permission must be obtained for copyrighted material.

 

14. Peer-Review Process

Manuscripts normally pass through the following stages:

  1. Initial editorial screening
  2. Plagiarism checking
  3. Double-blind peer review
  4. Author revision
  5. Final editorial decision
  6. Copyediting and formatting
  7. Author proofreading
  8. DOI registration and publication

Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, resubmission, or rejection.

15. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright in their published work.

Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0) unless otherwise stated.

Readers may share and adapt the work provided that proper credit is given to the authors and journal.

16. Submission Checklist

Before submission, authors should confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original and unpublished.
  • It is not under review elsewhere.
  • All authors have approved the submission.
  • The manuscript has been anonymized.
  • A separate title page is uploaded.
  • The abstract contains 150–250 words.
  • The KJMR template has been followed.
  • References follow APA 7th edition.
  • Ethical approval and consent are included where applicable.
  • Funding and conflicts of interest are disclosed.
  • Similarity is within the permitted limits.
  • Tables, figures, and supplementary files are correctly uploaded.
