Archiving Policy
Objective
The primary objective of the archiving policy of the Kashf Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (KJMR) is to ensure the long-term preservation, integrity, and uninterrupted accessibility of all published content in a reliable, secure, and sustainable manner.
Archiving Methods
All published materials, including research articles, review papers, editorials, and supplementary files, are preserved using recognized digital preservation standards. KJMR adopts a multi-layered archiving strategy combining institutional repositories, third-party archiving systems, indexing databases, and distributed preservation networks to ensure redundancy and resilience.
Institutional Repository
KJMR maintains its own institutional digital repository, where the final published versions of all articles are securely stored. The repository is regularly backed up, monitored, and maintained to safeguard the integrity, authenticity, and continued availability of archived content.
LOCKSS and CLOCKSS
To further strengthen long-term preservation, Kashf Journal of Multidisciplinary Research participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS) archiving systems.
-
LOCKSS ensures that multiple copies of published content are stored across a distributed global network of libraries, protecting against data loss, corruption, or system failure.
-
CLOCKSS provides an additional safeguard by acting as a dark archive. In the event that journal content becomes unavailable through the publisher, CLOCKSS will make the archived material openly accessible to the public.
These systems collectively guarantee permanent preservation and continued access to KJMR content.
Third-Party Archiving Services
In addition to LOCKSS and CLOCKSS, KJMR collaborates with reputable third-party digital archiving services specializing in scholarly content preservation. These services provide an extra layer of security, ensuring redundancy and long-term availability of journal content.
Indexing and Repository Databases
KJMR strives to ensure that all published articles are indexed and discoverable through major academic databases and repositories such as Google Scholar and other recognized indexing platforms. Indexing enhances the visibility, discoverability, and accessibility of archived content through multiple independent access points.
Version Control
KJMR implements strict version control procedures to preserve the scholarly record. Any corrections, updates, or retractions are clearly documented. All previous versions of articles are retained in the archive for transparency and reference purposes.
Accessibility
KJMR is committed to open and barrier-free access. All archived content is made available under an open access model, ensuring that researchers, scholars, policymakers, and the public can access published materials without subscription or payment restrictions.
Data and Supplementary Material Preservation
All supplementary materials, datasets, multimedia files, and supporting documents associated with published articles are archived following best practices in digital data preservation. This includes:
-
Use of sustainable and compatible file formats
-
Preservation of descriptive metadata
-
Regular integrity checks to prevent data degradation
