Abstract

"Oedipus Rex" is a world-renowned tragedy drama originating from Greece. In terms of tone, it is a tragedy based on the rebellion of human nature and sexual imbalance. Various studies on this play have emerged, among which social and psychological studies are the most prominent. Due to the uniqueness of the play's theme, it has been translated into several languages, including Urdu. Regarding the study of drama and translation, it appears that there has been no sound study on the environmental elements presented in the play. Based on this point, this paper presents a study on the reflection of environmental elements in an Urdu translation of the drama.
